MM133: The Mission of Jesus

In Mission Minute by Andrew Stroud Comments

If there’s one word that can help you understand the mission of Jesus, the work that he is doing in the world today, it is gather. Jesus is the one who was sent by the Father, into the world, to gather a people for himself.

This is why Jesus is the Good Shepherd. He was sent to seek and to save that which was lost. He’s building the church, which is described as the flock of God.

Jesus himself said that “He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.”

So two questions for us today. First, are you with Jesus? Are you one of those he has gathered out of the world and made part of the family of God?

And second, are you part of the family business? Do you understand the work that Jesus is doing in the world today and are you available to be a part of helping him gather others into the kingdom of God?
